Most mystical traditions affirm that the path towards deep realization involves the integration of knowledge and being in three directions simultaneously (the “BIG THREE”):
The True, the Beautiful, and the Good. Accordingly, the TAO Metaversity organizes its programs-academys following this ancient insight.
The Beautiful: stands for “I” (the subjective, consciousness, self), aesthetics, perception, mind, faith, sincerity, Yang – Programs: The Arts, Inner Dimensional Studies, Music. In the first phase, the building for the Beautiful will house fine art studios, theatre for concerts, film and drama /indoor and out (separate or joined to outside), art exhibits, a ‘commons’, music practice rooms, recording and dance studios, a few lecture classes, and supporting spaces. An important part will be meditation areas for both sitting and moving mindfulness. (around 20,000 sq.ft., 20 shared faculty, 300 students, 5 staff members)
The True: stands for “it” (the objective, the empirical, nature), science and technology, deed, body, purity, Yin – Programs: Medicine, Environmental Studies, Sciences. For the initial phase, the building for the True will house programs associated with health and the environment. This includes studios for massage and yoga, environmental classrooms with exposed wall(s), spaces open to outdoor gardens, an outdoor pool for water therapies, collaborative laboratories and studios, a ‘commons’, a library, a few lecture classrooms, and supporting spaces (around 20,000 sq.ft., 20 shared faculty, 300 students, 5 staff members)
The Good: stands for “we” (the intersubjective, worldview, culture), ethics and morals, word, heart, fidelity, Tao – Programs: The Union Building, and the Business and Human Relations Programs. The building for the Good with the Student Union will be the hub and center of the campus. The Union will accommodate community gathering events, café, large workshops/lectures halls, exhibits, offices for facility and staff, emporium (bookstore), etc. (around 15,000 sq.ft.). The two academic programs will include collaborative work environments, private study areas, a few lecture classrooms, a ‘commons’, and supporting spaces (around 15,000 sq.ft., 12 shared faculty, 200 students, and 3 staff members).
